From the Future Medical Physicist in the Family

Well, my good news is that I was accepted by GA Tech into their MSMP program. It's distance learning, so I'll be able to study wherever Brad ends up dragging me over the next couple of years! :) It's a three year program, so I'll actually be employable in 2010.

Hello all,
I'm going to give this thing a try real quick to see if my post goes where it is supposed to. Cole is crying as I type so this is only a test......

Bachman ramblings...

I am so happy to be a part of this and actually make an appearance as I had my doubts that I would ever get 9 minutes without the little darlings helping me out. Someone sent me an email that said I had been easter egg-ed and it has amused Evan and Caylyn for 2 days and over 55 replays. I would love to say that was an "egg-zaggeration" but it isn't. It has a little dancing chicken at the end who is yodeling a polka so you can imagine my joy by the 3rd listen....I am including this photo of Caylyn as one of the nurses in the hospital shot a ton of professional grade photos and put together a dvd of a day in the life of Cay at the hospital...I cry each time I watch it as it truly captures her many dimensions and it also hit me just what we go through, especially Caylyn. I will upload one of Evan as well as his birthday is saturday and you cannot imagine how big he has gotten!! He is just so darn TALL all his pants look like highwaters. (as we say in the sunny south...bless his heart!) Caylyn's hair is growing in again and Evans is growing out from my last little trim I assaulted him with. Tully's is growing long and wavy so he can donate to locks of love if he gets past the aggravation stage (if my hair ever looked like that i would just be grateful!!) We attended a marriage retreat in Gatlinburg last weekend and it was a surprise for Tully for his birthday, and me as well as the church gave us a "scholarship" to go...pretty much a full ride! We stayed in Glenstone lodge and no kids (that were ours) were allowed. It was a truly awesome weekend and we would do that again in a second! The speakers were really inspiring as well and the words of wisdom were short and very memorable as well as applicable. Overall, we like each other again:)! Then a different group of girls at the church pitched in and gave me a house keeper...lets now sing amazing grace--coz she is awesome!!!! Hope all is well with you both and congrats on the school advancements Elizabeth! Tully is working around the corner from here for a woman I met at the marriott during the SHS High school reunion planning. He should be busy for about a month or so. We then head to Hilton Head the 22-29th of April with Hilton Head Heroes as our sponsors and we are truly looking forward to that! I wish I could take a babysitter with us though! Well I am going to go read for 5 minutes before I fall out--the kids have really been on a mission lately and I called Tonja yesterday crying that they had declared war on me...they stomped two pounds of grapes into the hardwood floors of Caylyn's bedroom and I not only had no more grapes...I still had no wine!! Only one HUGE sticky mess...I was busy elsewhere trying to plunge out the vaccuum--I did a head count of the animals and all are present and accounted for so I never did figure out what was stuck in there...I heard that a mother's salary was figured out and came to $50.00 per hour ...24/7/365. seems kinda cheap to me...and finally, just have a weird question here..can you get very many 'western' grocery staples in India? I notice we have little asian and mexican groceries around and I got curious of India had little american groceries hidden about. Not much of a question in the overall scheme of things but just curious. Much love and good night, Cath

The ever continuing saga of Elizabeth

So, I submitted my application today. It will be at least a month before I hear anything. Thankfully, I will be gone for two weeks of that month, which will make the waiting easier. Updates as happenings happen.

Baseball

OK, so maybe I am jumping ahead of myself, but I was thinking...

If there is enough interest (3 or more plus myself), perhaps we could get a fantasy baseball league together.

You don't have to know a ton about baseball (but you need to know enough to the difference between a starting pitcher and a relief pitcher), and you don't have to have tons of free time, either... Lord knows I don't. You also don't have to be very technically minded - Yahoo's fantasy leagues are easy to set up and maintain... and free, of course.

If you are interested, let me know and I'll set up a league. I am leaving town on Sunday, and the season starts while I am out-of-town, so we'd need to hold the draft, say, Saturday or Sunday. There are different ways to do it - we can rank our choices and have the draft go automatically at a set time (that's the easy way and would give us more time), or we can set a time for everyone to meet online and we can choose in turn.

So, let me know what you think... Elizabeth? Dad? David? Brian? Tully? Mayfield? Forest? Anyone else interested in "America's game"?
